Dozens of bottles of wine without fiscal stamps, estimated to be worth around 3 million euros, have been seized from the home of businessman Ergys Agasi. He is wanted as part of a criminal group that kidnapped businessmen and, through violence, forced them to give up AKSH tenders.
The wines were found by BKH agents, who notified the prosecutor of the case to carry out the seizure. By order of the prosecutor, the seizure measure was imposed and the Tax Investigation Directorate was notified, which proceeded to block them due to the lack of a fiscal stamp and suspicions of tax evasion. Sources indicate that at one point an attempt was made to change the bottles, but this became impossible after their complete photography and documentation had been carried out earlier by the investigation group.
According to sources, a bottle cost between 7,000 and 10,000 euros and was aged between 70 and 100 years. The wine collection will be subject to further verification for the legal source of the wealth.
Meanwhile, Ergys Agas and Ermal Beqiri, against whom security measures of arrest and imprisonment have been imposed, have not yet been able to be captured and both continue to be wanted by the authorities.
Within the same criminal proceedings, the Special Court has today upheld the house arrest measure for the director and deputy director of AKSH. Both measures have been confirmed by the GJKKO after reviewing the requests for change of measure, while investigations by SPAK continue to fully uncover the suspected tender manipulation scheme.
