The United States Embassy has published an important announcement regarding the situation created by delays in the approval of budget funds in the US, which have temporarily suspended some government functions.
Through an official message, the Embassy announces that its Facebook page will not be updated regularly until administrative normality is restored.
“Due to the delay in approving budget funds, this Facebook account will not be updated regularly – with the exception of urgent information on security matters – until regular operations resume. During this time, scheduled passport and transit visa services in the United States and at embassies and consulates abroad will continue as possible,” the announcement said.
The Embassy urges citizens to refer to its official website for more information on consular services and current operational status.
This announcement comes at a time when the US risks a "government shutdown", a well-known situation that occurs when Congress fails to approve the annual budget on time, affecting the functioning of many federal agencies.
