The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared today that the DP parliamentary group will soon move parliamentary debates… to the Council of Ministers building. The platform, which he called “parliamentary-civic,” comes, according to him, as a response to the Socialist Party, which, it seems, cannot allow debates inside the Assembly.
"Not even ministers appear in interpellations. Under these conditions, I will suggest to the parliamentary group and the party that the opposition open a parliamentary platform under the Council of Ministers building. There, opposition MPs and citizens will express all their opinions, proposals and denunciations," said Berisha.
He stressed that this "does not mean a boycott," as the opposition plans to wage the battle within parliament as well.
It seems that the initiative is a bit like the "Polture" under his balcony during house arrest, only now the stage will be moved under the prime minister's office. Of course, this will also serve to justify the lack of protests, which the DP has not yet organized.
Berisha himself acknowledged this paradox during today's press conference, emphasizing that the protests are long overdue. However, he promised that there will be national protests soon... without specifying when.
"The national protests are long overdue. We will announce the national protest very soon," Berisha said, hinting that "very soon" could be any day... or never.
