Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has left the SPAK premises, where she was questioned for about 40 minutes. She spoke to the media but did not provide many details about the matter she was summoned to.
Balluku said that she has received a request from the Special Prosecution Office regarding a matter that is under investigation. The Deputy Prime Minister also said that she is hopeful that the entire process will be based on accountability and the principles of justice.
"Out of respect for the justice system, I have accepted SPAK's request for an investigation. As a public official, I see it as a process that I am hopeful will be based on accountability and the principles of justice," she said.
We recall that Balluku hired her sister Pamela Qirko, who was the former chairwoman of the Independent Qualification Commission, as her lawyer.
