The Constitutional Court unanimously rejected the Presidency's request to be a party to Erion Veliaj's appeal, arguing that the election decree cannot be reviewed by the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court's panel said that the decree will be treated on the merits of the case and will be decided on in the end like any other element of the lawsuit.
"The issue of the Court's jurisdiction to review the presidential decree is related to the merits of the dispute. Your request was not accepted at this stage of the review, but will be treated as part of the merits of the case," said Holta Zaçaj.
