The elected MP of the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi, in a media interview revealed the opposition's revolutionary strategy for the new parliamentary session. He stated that the opposition will demand the establishment of investigative committees, because according to him, 25 mandates have been stolen from it and the DP should have had no less than 75 MPs.
"Since the consequences of burning mandates were catastrophic, it is impossible for the DP to repeat the same mistake. We claim that 25 mandates were stolen from us. We claim that we have 75 seats in that parliament. But we cannot leave those 50 seats empty that the citizens voted for us," said Këlliçi.
After failing to oust Edi Rama with a vote, and instead being reduced even further, the opposition has now chosen the most difficult path to find the mandates they have lost. It remains to be seen in what form it will be imposed on the supermajority to obtain an investigative commission for vote theft.
But even if it happens, the commission will likely end up being more ridiculous than the investigative commission on healthcare concessions headed by Albana Vokshi.
However, with public statements, opposition representatives can claim 83 more mandates, but the reality is that tomorrow in parliament, Edi Rama will sit as Prime Minister for the fourth time.
