The fire at the Bushati landfill has been active for several days, while the situation on the ground remains difficult due to the reactivation of the fires and atmospheric conditions.
Even this Tuesday, the fire continues to be active, despite the continuous interventions of the firefighting forces. The flames have been reactivated from time to time, also helped by the wind, making it more difficult to completely isolate them.
Dense smoke and air pollution have created a difficult situation for residents of the area, who report difficulties in living and health concerns. Firefighters continue to work on the ground to neutralize the fires and prevent the further spread of the flames.
Residents are concerned about the situation. One of them, who suffers from asthma, says that the pollution has directly affected her and her family's health.
"We can't breathe, I have asthma. My children have moved away from the area. We get dirty water and everything is covered in dust. It's no longer livable here," she said.
Another resident emphasizes that the situation is very serious and that the community is facing serious difficulties due to the smoke and burning waste.
"We can't breathe, we're in a lot of pain. We don't know where to complain. This is the first time something like this has happened. It's causing us health problems," he said.
Authorities continue to intervene in the area, while residents are seeking urgent solutions to the situation.
