Romanian citizen Daniel Cornea, 53, with a significant criminal record, has been declared wanted by the Vlora Police, as he is suspected of having acted as an executioner in the murder of Renato Hoxhaj in Vlora. The guard of a palace was executed at the door of his house, and it is suspected that the murder was ordered from Dubai, as he had acted on behalf of criminal groups by providing information.
"As a result of the professional engagement of investigative and operational structures, in recent days, in Vlora, it has been possible to uncover and document with legal evidence the murder of citizen Renato Hoxha, which occurred on 27.04.2025," declared the director of the Vlora Police, Elidon Cela.
Three days ago, according to the police, Kleanth Bylyku alias Armando Gega, 42 years old, resident of Vlora, was arrested.
"A warrant for the execution of the criminal decision was issued against him by the Vlora Court, for the assignment of the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the murder of citizen Renato Hoxhaj, which occurred on 27.04.2025, at around 06:20, in the 'Hajro Çakërri' neighborhood, near the Polyclinic of the city of Vlora. The victim was shot with a firearm, with four bullets in the body and head, losing his life on the spot", the police stressed.
Further, the Vlora police chief stated that "A foreign citizen, of Romanian nationality, DC, 53 years old, with a significant criminal record in the field of crimes against the person, was declared wanted. An international arrest warrant has been issued for this citizen for the criminal offenses of 'Premeditated murder', committed in collaboration and 'Unauthorized production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition'".
Earlier, in April, police detained citizen Eris Mehmetaj, the son of a former DP MP, who is accused of the criminal offense of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder." Mehmetaj, according to police, provided the car that was used in the murder.
Another citizen, with the initials IS, 26 years old, previously arrested for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", is also under investigation for this murder, for which work continues to determine his role.
