SPAK is expected to communicate the closure of the investigations to Ilir Meta today at 11:00.
His lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, stated that he will be present, and with him the former president. Ilir Meta has been indicted by the Special Prosecution Office on charges of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets.
His ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, Ema Çoku and Piro Xhixha, who were previously informed of the closure of the investigation, are also accused. After the summer holidays, SPAK is expected to submit the file for trial to the Special Court. Ilir Meta has been held in detention since October 2024 and his attempts to leave the cell have so far failed.
