Flodian Plaku, who also goes by the surnames Serjani and Mamo, one of the most wanted names by the police, ended up in handcuffs on Sunday afternoon in Orikum, Vlora. The Vlora Police and the operatives followed his trail almost two months ago, when they received information that Plaku had received orders to carry out the murder of a member of a criminal group from Tepelena.
During this time, actions were organized until they managed to handcuff him. At the time of his arrest, the old man was in the company of Julian Aliaj, who also ended up in handcuffs. The action to capture him was considered highly dangerous, since the wanted man is one of the most problematic people in the criminal world, suspected of having acted as an executioner in several events in Tirana and Vlora.
The old man was declared wanted by order of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, as he is suspected of being the perpetrator in the assassination attempt on Gentian Bejtja, in Larushk, Fushë Krujë. The strongman of Fushë Krujë was executed while he was in the greenhouse next to his apartment in Larushk. He was killed in front of his wife and children.
In connection with the assassination of March 15, 2024, Edison Haxhiu was arrested, under suspicion of creating the conditions to commit murder. Haxhiu has already completed his sentence and has regained his freedom. Ilir Brahimi alias Ilir Beqaraj was arrested as one of the main organizers of Bejtja's murder. Beqaraj is the brother-in-law of Roan Brahimi, who was executed in Athens. Flodian Plaku, according to investigations, appears to have acted in exchange for payment. Meanwhile, the victim Gentian Bejtja is known as a friend and then a sworn enemy of the brothers Durim and Valter Bami. He had survived several assassinations in a row, where in one of the serious incidents his brother-in-law was killed and his minor sons were injured. Bejtja was suspected of involvement in serious crimes.
