The Special Prosecution Office has not granted Erion Veliaj permission to be present at the Municipal Council meeting where the 2026 budget will be approved.
SPAK has rejected the request made by the Tirana Municipal Council, on the grounds that it does not meet the criteria set by law.
The prosecution emphasizes that special permits for detainees are granted only in cases of serious illnesses that endanger the lives of family members, or important family events, such as death, birth or marriage, as well as in cases of the convict taking his own exams.
