The fire that has engulfed several warehouses in the used clothing market on "5 Maji" street in Tirana continues to be active, causing panic among residents and businesses in the area.
According to reports from the scene, the flames are large and spreading rapidly, seriously endangering several businesses located near the market. Thick smoke has covered the area, while residents and traders have been forced to leave for safety reasons.
Firefighters are on the scene and are working to contain the fire, but despite their intervention, the situation remains difficult to control due to the intensity of the flames and the numerous flammable materials in the warehouses.
Dramatic scenes have also been recorded near the Madrasa area, where occasional explosions can be heard from the fire pits. So far, residents of several surrounding buildings have been evacuated, while business owners have rushed to the area in panic, trying to salvage what they can. Dozens of fire engines and ambulances have arrived at the scene, but according to media reports, water tankers are unable to enter the area due to heavy traffic.
There are no reports of injuries at this time, while the cause of the fire remains unclear. Authorities are continuing to intervene and monitor the situation.
