
Italian investigators uncovered a structured drug trafficking network that was supplied from Albania and distributed to Sardinia and Tuscany. According to the investigation, Albanians played a key role as suppliers and intermediaries, facilitating the transport and payments of drugs.
Over 50 carabinieri participated in the second phase of the "Termine" operation in four provinces of Italy, where a group suspected of drug trafficking between Sardinia and Tuscany was hit, leading to the arrest of seven people and the imposition of a stay ban on several others.
The investigation began months ago and by October 6 had led to 62 preventive measures. According to the indictment, two linked organizations were importing cocaine from the Balkans and distributing it on the island through a structured network of distributors, brokers and couriers.
Hushi Clinton, an Albanian living in Pisa, was banned from staying in Sardinia. He facilitated the supply and movement of drugs between Albanians and Italian suspects, receiving money for cocaine for Albanian suppliers. Investigators say the drugs came from Albania, passed through Tuscany and were then distributed in Sardinia.
In Iglesias, Francesco Antonio Busonera, Paolo Loddo and Antonio Scano were arrested. Busonera is considered a trusted figure by the organization's leaders and was tasked with contacting local buyers. Loddo and Scano were responsible for distributing drugs in the area, managing contacts with buyers and distribution to surrounding municipalities. Loddo also had a role in collecting money from buyers.
In Carbonia, Valeria Piras was arrested for retail distribution of cocaine and heroin. She is considered part of the local distribution network and guaranteed the continuity of drug circulation in the area.
In Girasole, Federico Cualbu and Silvio Loi have been placed under house arrest. Cualbu was involved in the transport of drugs between suppliers and distributors, while Loi was involved in the delivery of substances to other members of the group. Pietro Pinna, also under house arrest, is linked to large quantities of drugs.
