The preliminary hearing at the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCAC) for former President Ilir Meta and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, scheduled to take place today, has been postponed.
The reason for the postponement of the session was the absence of one of the defense lawyers of one of the defendants, making the normal development of the procedure impossible.
Earlier in the day, Monika Kryemadhi was seen entering the GJKKO premises, smiling at the media, but without giving any statement. Meanwhile, Ilir Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, briefly said before the start of the session: "See you after the session."
Ilir Meta has been in detention for more than a year, while preliminary proceedings are underway against him and Kryemadhi, which will determine whether the case will go to trial.
