Two more phases of the international operation "The Wanted" are being finalized.
Following the intensive work to track, locate, capture and arrest internationally wanted persons, as well as thanks to the real-time exchange of information with partners, it became possible to finalize the other two phases of the international operation codenamed "The Wanted".
As a result of information provided by the Criminal Police Department of the State Police and its exchange with counterparts in the Dominican Republic, through Interpol Tirana, it was possible to arrest in Punta Cana/Dominican Republic the Albanian citizen SP, alias VP, 41 years old, born in Lushnja. This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, has set the personal security measure "Arrest with imprisonment", for the criminal offenses "Drug trafficking", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group" and "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".
Also, thanks to the information provided by the State Police structures and the exchange of information with the Colombian Police, through Interpol Tirana, as well as the coordination of actions with the national Interpol offices in Ecuador and Colombia, it became possible to arrest in Colombia the Colombian citizen SR, suspected of being part of the group that transported and processed cocaine in the apartment of the former head of the municipality in Frakull, Fier, V. Ç..
Procedures for the extradition of these citizens to Albania are ongoing.
