The Special Court has found five defendants guilty and sentenced them to a total of 59 years and 6 months in prison on charges of cultivating cannabis as part of a criminal group.
The defendants received reduced sentences due to the summary trial. According to the court's verdict, Arben Shpati was ultimately sentenced to 8 years and eight months in prison, Pavlin Shpati will serve 7 years in prison, while Aleksandër Rrasa, Jeton Kacoli and Kristjan Plepaj were each sentenced to 8 years in prison.
According to investigations, the defendants are suspected of being part of a criminal group that cultivated thousands of cannabis roots in the villages of Kir and Pult during 2023.
