The Special Court decided to leave Igli Haxhiaj, an anti-terror officer in the State Police, in prison.
He is accused of having links to the criminal group led by Elvis Doçi, known as Visi i Pojës, which trafficked cocaine from South America to Italy. Investigations revealed that Haxhiaj sold investigative secrets to the criminal group in exchange for bribes.
At the time he is suspected of committing the criminal offense, he was serving as an officer in the Operational Forces.
In Albania, within the framework of this operation, 3 other people were arrested on behalf of the Brescia Prosecutor's Office. While checks were carried out in 21 apartments. The criminal group trafficked cocaine worth 12 million euros.
