New details have emerged from the SPAK action in cooperation with the Italian anti-mafia. The operation took place in the cities of Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Cërrik, Kavajë and simultaneously in Italy.
During the action, the following were arrested in Albania:
Asti Llupi, resident of Durrës
Erald Salla, resident of Cërrik
Altin Shehaj, resident of Kavaja
As well as Igli Haxhiaj, an Anti-Terror officer, previously part of the Operational Unit.
The criminal group targeted is suspected of trafficking large amounts of cocaine from South America to Italy.
