
The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) has issued a verdict for the former Auditor of the Supreme State Audit (SSA), Bardhi Koçi, and his associate, Pranvera Meshi, for the criminal offense of "Exercising unlawful influence over persons exercising public functions".
Koç's sentence was commuted to 3 months and 4 days of probation. Meanwhile, Pranvera Meshi, who was sentenced to 8 months in prison, was released through a summary trial.
According to the decision, Bardhi Koçi had requested the sum of 1,500 euros from Pranvera Meshi and had received 1,000 euros in advance, with the aim of influencing the decision-making of the judge who was examining her case.
Koçi also requested 1,300 euros from another citizen, in order to expedite the court hearing for the imposition of a personal security measure against citizen NM, arrested for the criminal offense of "Irregular Driving".
He is also found to be involved in receiving illegal benefits from citizen RG, in order to exert influence on experts from the Institute of Scientific Police. This influence was related to the issuance of a chemical expertise report for a quantity of narcotics seized from citizen BG, also suspected of the criminal offense of “Irregular Driving”.
