Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed important details regarding the attack that occurred near Rinas Airport, where Gilmando Dani was killed and AMP employee Muçi Shaljani was seriously injured.
Invited to the show "Opinion" on Tv Klan, Lala said that several people have been escorted by the police, while investigations are underway on several leads. "Last night there were people escorted from the Nikla area, but two people from Vlora were also searched for, who have not yet been found," she said.
The journalist raised concerns about the lack of police patrols at the time of the incident, describing this fact as inexplicable and with potentially fatal consequences for citizens. “There is no explanation why there was no police patrol there. Innocent people could have been killed, the damage could have been much greater. This event requires political and moral responsibility,” Lala stressed.
According to her, the Rinas assassination attempt seriously violated national security, as it occurred in a highly populated area and near the entrance to the state terminal, in broad daylight.
Speaking about the victim, Klodiana Lala confirmed that Gilmando Dani was a member of Emiljano Shullazi's group and that the assassins had followed him with accurate information. "Dani was in the car with Muçi Shaljani. They had gone through the electronic gates and had taken the car to the parking lot. The executioners knew exactly where he was in the car and their goal was to eliminate him without leaving a trace," the journalist declared.
Lala also revealed that Dani had received warnings about the danger that threatened him and had recently chosen to live cautiously. “He had recently received alerts to be careful. He was engaged and lived most of the time in Spain, keeping a withdrawn profile,” she said.
As for Muçi Shaljani, the AMP employee who was injured in the attack, Lala indicated that he is the owner of a hotel in the center of Tirana and that his recruitment into the AMP structures is suspicious. “Two officials have falsified data about his involvement in AMP. He was a businessman and did not need money, so the police must provide explanations on how he became part of the agency,” the journalist emphasized.
In conclusion, Klodiana Lala underlined that Gilmando Dani was a person known to law enforcement agencies for a long time and had been the target of several previous assassination attempts. “He was on the wanted list, but it was not known who he was associating with. The investigations will have to reveal who informed the execution group about his movements,” the journalist concluded.
