Following the attack that occurred yesterday at the roundabout near the "Mother Teresa" airport, where Gilmando Dano was killed and Muçi Shaljani, an agent of the Police Supervision Agency (AMP), was injured, the latter has detained two police officers suspected of forgery of documents and abuse of office.
The official announcement of the AMP states that Deputy Commissioner Bruno Cara, a specialist in crime investigation, and Inspector Ashim Zajmi, a sub-specialist in community policing at Police Station No. 3, Tirana, have been detained.
Both are suspected of having jointly compiled the Credibility Certificate for citizen M.Sh. (Muçi Shaljani), without reflecting in the document data that constituted a cause for the violation of security conditions. This action, according to the AMP, has made it possible for him to be employed in the institution, in violation of the law “On State Police” and the acts that regulate the activity of law enforcement agencies.
The investigations so far have also found violations of legal procedures in the recruitment process of Shaljani, so the documentary evidence has been sent to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office in the form of a criminal report, to determine the legal responsibilities of the persons involved.
According to the AMP, investigations are continuing to fully clarify the procedures followed and the possible involvement of other officials in this case, which is related to Tuesday's mafia assassination in Rinas.
