The investigations into the murder of 44-year-old Italian Edoardo Sarchi, in the village of Salari, Tepelena, take another turn.
According to the forensic examination, Sarchi died from a blow to the head, which has undermined the alibi of his partner, Eqerem Braçi. The latter claimed to the police that he and his partner had set off in two cars for a hunt, when an unknown person blocked their path and started shooting at the vehicle in which his partner was traveling. As a result, Sarchi lost his life.
But his claims were dismissed, as technical expertise did not reveal any traces of lead in the Italian citizen's vehicle.
Police have detained Gazment Braçi, the son of Eqerem Braçi, as he is suspected of being present at the event.
The Italian was the administrator of the brick factory he owned with Braçi in Tirana.
