The Lushnja police have arrested over 30 people in connection with the assassination attempt on Julian Sula, known as "Juli of Pashako". Most of them are members of Aldo Bare's group and the Aliçka tribe, two groups that have had frequent conflicts with the 45-year-old in recent years. After questioning, the arrested people were released, after denying any involvement in the incident.
Investigations have revealed that the car used by the perpetrators was stolen in Greece in 2022, while the license plates were taken there a year earlier in various Greek cities. Greek authorities have confirmed to the Fier Police that these are unsolved thefts with no identified perpetrators.
From the investigations so far, it is not clear how and where the perpetrators fled after the assassination. It is suspected that, after burning the car in the village of Lifaj, they may have fled in another vehicle, passing through the villages towards Kuçova and Berat. The relevant area is mainly agricultural land without businesses, so there are no cameras that would have recorded the movements of the perpetrators.
