
Two Brazilian nationals have been arrested by Durrës police, after they allegedly rented an apartment in the city's No. 2 neighborhood and used it for prostitution and drug consumption. The police operation codenamed "STORM" also led to the criminal prosecution of a 22-year-old man for involvement in prostitution.
According to the official announcement, the Trafficking Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Support Section and the Prosecution, finalized the tenth phase of the operation after a several-week investigation conducted with proactive methods for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution", "Adaptation of premises for prostitution", "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Adaptation of premises for drug use".
As part of the operation, citizens BB, 24 years old, and HD, 21 years old, both originally from Brazil, were arrested. While citizen KM, 22 years old, resident of Durrës, was released on bail.
During the intervention, both arrested women refused to open the apartment door, which was later opened with the help of firefighters. Investigations revealed that the rented apartment was serving as a place for prostitution and drug use.
The police seized as material evidence the two passports of Brazilian citizens, a sum of money in euros and lek, three mobile phones, a notepad, several SIM cards, as well as two small amounts of cannabis and chocolate containing cannabis.
The materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions.
