A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Tirana Police for illegally wearing and using a State Police uniform, posing as a police officer.
In a media release, the Police announced that they have seized police uniforms, police badges/ranks, 1 sporting weapon and suspected forged documents.
The patrol services of Police Commissariat No. 5, during the checks carried out in the framework of the crackdown on illegality in every area that appears, on "Mother Teresa" Boulevard, have observed the "Mercedes-Benz" type vehicle, driven by citizen E. B., who was wearing a police uniform and emblems, similar to those of the State Police.
After stopping the vehicle and further verification, it turned out that the driver, citizen E. B, was not a police officer.
Furthermore, during the search of his apartment, they found and seized as material evidence:
• 4 identification documents with suspected forged names and photographs;
• 1 pistol-type sporting weapon with 2 corresponding combs;
• State Police uniform;
• 16 different emblems and ranks;
• 3 hats with insignia similar to those of the State Police.
"Work continues to fully document the case and verify whether the 20-year-old may be implicated in other illegal activities related to profits through the use of police equipment and uniforms," the Blues announced.
At the conclusion of the first investigative actions, citizen E. B, 20 years old, resident of Kamëz, was arrested in flagrante delicto, and the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further actions.
