Mariza Kola, the sister of 34-year-old Kristian Kola, who was executed in recent days in the center of Shkodra, expresses the pain and uncertainty that the family is experiencing after this tragic event.
She confessed that she received the sad news over the phone from her friends, who told her that her brother had been killed. “My friends called me and gave me the news,” she said with tears in her eyes, wearing a mourning veil.
Mariza dismissed any suggestion that her brother was involved in any conflict, and recounted the last conversation she had with him. "The day before the murder, I spoke to him. I expected to talk at dinner, but I couldn't. He had no problem, he always talked to me or his father. We don't know anything, they haven't said anything," she said, adding that it is not easy to cope with the loss of a loved one.
On the other hand, Mariza denounced the lack of transparency and the delays in the response of the institutions after the event. She stressed that the family was not questioned by the police and that Kristian's father was not allowed to accompany the body during the transport. "The ambulance was delayed for an hour, while the whole of Shkodra would have rushed to help him," she told Euronews, expressing doubts about the authorities' management of the situation.
The family is demanding justice and answers about the circumstances of the murder, while the investigation continues. "There was no conflict, he worked with his father. We want justice, we leave it to justice," concluded Kristian Kola's sister, as she did not spare tears.
