Mondi Mëhalla alias Edmond Hyka, 43 years old, owner of the “Xhaxho OIL” gas station and “El Taxi” taxi company in Elbasan, had just finished work. He came down from his office and got into his Range Rover. As soon as he got in, unidentified people shot him dead. Police said that the victim was hit by 5 bullets that caused his death. From the security camera review, the license plate of a vehicle was recorded, which was suspected to have been used by the perpetrators of the incident. The owner of the vehicle, who lives in Durrës, was escorted and questioned. He explained his itinerary and insisted that he had no connection to the incident. After questioning, he was released, while additional factors of the shooting were also taken from him. The police also escorted several people listed as potential suspects. The 43-year-old Mëhalla was previously listed by the police for distributing narcotics. Police are investigating several leads related to the incident, ranging from settling scores to competition.
