The Federal Supreme Court has issued an arrest warrant for Albanian businessman Ervin Mata, who is wanted by SPAK as responsible for trafficking significant quantities of cocaine from Latin America to Europe.
The media writes that judge Alexandre de Moraes on September 23 issued the decision to detain Mata, who, according to the judge, is in Brazilian territory.
The media writes:
Federal Supreme Court (STF) Judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the arrest of Albanian tycoon Ervin Mata, accused by the Albanian Public Prosecutor’s Office of running an international drug trafficking network. The order was issued on September 23, after the Albanian government requested the extradition of the businessman, who is said to be a fugitive in Brazil.
"Given the above, and considering that detention is a condition for the admissibility of the extradition process and is intended to ensure the execution of any extradition order, which is revealed upon the effective surrender of the extradited person to the requesting state, I order the detention of Ervin Mata, ordering the issuance of an arrest warrant, the execution of which must be communicated immediately to this Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, Interpol and the diplomatic mission of the interested state," Moraes wrote in the decision.
The arrest warrant was issued on March 11, but the decree was only published on September 23. The case is being processed confidentially at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) as part of an extradition request. Ervin has not yet been arrested.
