Residents of the villages of Taç i Sipërm and Prodan, in the Erseka area, protested this Thursday against the occupation of pastures, which they claim are owned and used by the two communities.
According to residents, significant areas of pasture have been appropriated by a single individual, who is suspected of taking possession of over 400 hectares of land. They say that these areas are expected to be used for the installation of photovoltaic panels.
Residents emphasize that this action severely damages them economically, as livestock farming is the only source of income for their families. Around 100 livestock farmers from both villages are directly affected by this situation, jeopardizing the continuity of livestock farming activity.
The protesters are calling on law enforcement agencies and responsible institutions to intervene to verify and review the ownership documentation. According to them, there are overlaps in the land maps, which have led to the unfair inclusion of pastures that have been used for cattle grazing for years.
Residents are demanding immediate solutions and the return of pastures to their use, warning that if there is no institutional response, the protests will continue.
