Residents of the villages of Tërovë and Pendavinj have held a protest today due to the quality of their drinking water, which they say has had a very strong odor for two weeks and is undrinkable for consumption. They say this situation makes it impossible to use the water even for cooking.
"We have been having problems with drinking water for 3 weeks. It is a difficult problem that we cannot solve. The well was built in 1977, perhaps the reason is the heavy rainfall. Residents have bought water, what should we do?" said a resident.
Residents of Tërovë and Pendavinj, who together number around 1,500 people, have been forced to buy water for consumption, significantly increasing their expenses. Another elderly resident expressed concern about the impact this situation is having on daily life.
"It's been two weeks with a bad smell, and we buy it to cook. It's difficult for everything. And when we wash clothes, they smell bad. We have water, we have it 24 hours a day, but it's been 15 days since there's been a strong smell, it's not drinkable. Those who are competent should find a solution. We are buying water, the costs for us are very high. We are on pensions, only the elderly are left. We have no way to support ourselves."
