Residents of Rrjoll in Velipojë have protested again today, claiming that their properties are being looted for the construction of a tourist resort. They clashed with police forces in the area, initially blocking the Velipojë-Shëngji road axis in protest.
Then, residents intervened at the construction site, removing the machinery and employees of the company that had started work on the project. As a result of their reaction, the works have been suspended for the time being.
According to the residents, the start of the works is illegal, as the ownership issue has not yet been resolved. They emphasize that a court hearing is expected to take place in the coming days, which will decide on the property, demanding that all works be stopped until a final decision is made.
