Residents of Durrës protested this Wednesday, a day after floods hit several areas of the city, with many homes still under water. They are demanding compensation for the damage caused by the floods, while expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of assistance and appreciation from institutions.
A resident of the former Këneta said that this is the third time that the yard of his apartment has flooded and that this time the water has entered the house.
"The water is not receding. They need to remove the water from the streets and apartments because the damage is too great. No one has come from the verification groups to see the situation. We are isolated and no one is helping us," he said.
Residents demand that the state take immediate measures and not treat citizens as "second-hand", by providing support and compensation for losses caused by the floods.
