The Special Court has rejected the request of senior State Police official Ervina Gjana to retrieve the cell phones seized during the investigations into the AKSHI file.
Sources close to SPAK said that during the search of the apartment of Ervina Gjana and her cohabitant, Renato Hristic, they found and seized 8 cell phones and two laptops.
Hristic was the companion of the much-sought-after businessman Ergys Agasi, while his cohabitant, Gjana, currently holds the position of Director of Cyber Crime at the State Police and is known as one of Ilir Proda's most trusted people.
Ervina Gjana objected to the search and went to court, claiming that she had used the cell phones and not her cohabitant. However, SPAK obtained court approval for the officer's personal search as well.
The court rejected Gjana's request and considered the seizure of the items lawful. Ervina Gjana was previously suspected of involvement in the TIMS system interference scandal. Regarding AKSHI, SPAK discovered a criminal group and declared Ergys Agasi wanted, who is considered the eminence grise of Edi Rama and Ermal Beqiri, while AKSHI director Mirlinda Karcanaj and deputy director Hava Delibashi were sent to house arrest. The leaders of the criminal group Agasi and Beqiri are suspected of ordering the kidnapping of their business rival, Gerond Meçe, and under threat he was forced to withdraw from AKSHI tenders.
