The Durrës-Kavajë Region Police Supervision Agency, in cooperation with the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer GH, assigned to the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service Troop at the Durrës DVP.
According to AMP, the arrest was made after investigative actions using special methods, during which it was proven that the police officer had demanded and received from citizen ES the amount of 60 thousand new lek, in exchange for removing the vehicle from the blocking point and not imposing an administrative measure. The amount of money was seized as material evidence.
The officer is suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".
Investigations continue in cooperation with SPAK to discover whether other persons may be involved in this illegal activity.
