Also, yesterday, the former director of Durrës prison, Indrit Cerloj, was arrested as part of the same operation.
His arrest comes after his dismissal from office by order of the Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari.
The incident occurred at noon on January 13, at Durrës Hospital. While receiving medical treatment, Altin Ndoci asked to go to the toilet. He was accompanied by 2 police officers who were guarding him at the door of the hospital room, but during this moment he attacked them and escaped.
The escape plan was well-organized, as an "Audi A7" with a license plate stolen earlier this year was waiting for him at the exit of the Durrës hospital.
