The first days of 2026 have started with a heavy toll of road accidents. This morning, a serious accident occurred on the Lezhë-Shkodër axis, near the village of Gocaj, where two people lost their lives as a result of a strong collision between two vehicles.
The victims have been identified as spouses Elona Florini, 42 years old, and Petrit Florini, 53 years old, residents of Puka. Petrit Florini was a State Police officer, while his wife was a teacher.
A woman and a child, who were traveling in the other vehicle involved in the collision, were also injured in the accident. The injured were rushed to the hospital, where they are under the care of doctors.
Firefighters intervened at the scene to extract the bodies from the destroyed vehicle, while the bodies were then transported by ambulance.
