SPAK hits AKSHI, an institution that has been at the center of accusations and scandals related to tender procedures for years. Mirlinda Karcanaj, director of the National Agency for the Information Society, has been placed under house arrest, while a prison arrest order has been issued against the controversial businessman and at the same time the man who is considered Edi Rama's eminence grise, Ergys Agasi. Sources say that Agasi has not been put in handcuffs, as it turns out that he has left the country. Agasi is suspected of being involved in the AKSHI affair together with his friend, businessman Ermal Beqiri, who has also been placed under prison arrest.
Agas's departure has brought about a strong clash between SPAK and the State Police, since, as is known, the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, is his personal investment.
SPAK has also signed other security measures, including police officers.
From the more than one-year investigation, it turns out that Karcanaj has favored the companies of businessman Ermal Beqiri and several satellite companies that won multi-million tenders. While Agasi also appears to have intervened in the tenders, which have all gone to one hand. SPAK has investigated for criminal offenses of corruption, money laundering, abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders.
