A fatal accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Port of Durres, where a truck driver lost his life after being accidentally hit by another truck during customs processing procedures.
According to the Police, the incident occurred in the square in front of the Port scanner. Citizen NM, 49 years old, resident of Berat, driving a truck, is suspected of accidentally hitting citizen N. Sh., 62 years old, resident of Kosovo, who was driving another truck and was walking to submit his vehicle's documentation to undergo a scanner check.
As a result of the collision, the 62-year-old died at the scene.
The truck driver, NM, has been escorted to the police station, while procedural actions are being taken against him.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues its investigations to clarify the full circumstances and causes of the accident.
