The Special Court postponed the trial of former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi to September 10. During the hearing, Ilir Meta, who is accused of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, accused SPAK of deceiving him regarding the case.
"Not without purpose, we have sought certain people to testify. I was kidnapped on October 21, 2024 on the basis of a forged letter of intent. The letter of intent came in September for the agreement with DSIS," said Meta.
He stated that the case against him was raised in 2018 by Mother Jones magazine, after the US elections on November 4, when the Charles McGonigal regime was removed, as the latter is involved in my investigations and this has been confirmed by American courts.
"On the way from Albania to Kosovo, McGonigal also received decorations from the municipality. Before this man came to Albania, McGonigal was in Vienna and there is information that he was with Tom Doshi. It is said that citizen Durim Bami was also present at that meeting," Meta declared.
According to the former president, after this meeting, Romeo Kara appeared on the scene, who also filed a criminal complaint against him.
Meanwhile, regarding the messages found on the Prime Minister's phone, Meta also claims that SPAK violated the law, as she was a member of parliament and could not act without authorization from the Assembly.
"The story of the phone calls we heard, I was present when the apartment was searched. I was present when Ms. Kryemadhi claimed that one of the cell phones found there was her personal cell phone. She made it clear to them that this was my phone and not my mother's. She informed them that she is a member of parliament and, as I recall, they agreed to have it recorded in the minutes," he stressed.
Further, the former president stated that "I personally was against monopolies and I had resolved this matter by law in Parliament and I did not need to ask anyone for favors. All of this is to keep the press from lying and we will continue a due process here, so that the truth can be revealed."
Earlier, Monika Kryemadhi presented her claims and requested the questioning of several witnesses, including Prime Minister Edi Rama.
