Leonard Bashaliu, the brother of Albi Bashaliu, who was executed in 2021 in Gjocaj, Peqin, testified in the criminal trial against Laert Haxhiu, who is accused by SPAK of ordering and organizing the murder for revenge motives.
The murder of Albi Bashaliu was ordered by Lorenc Lala, who, according to SPAK, paid the sum of 50 thousand euros for the commission of the crime.

Leonard Bashaliu: My brother was killed in 2021. I learned about the incident from television in detention.

SPAK: Do you have any idea who might have killed your brother?
Leonard Bashaliu: I have no idea.
Prosecutor: You were accused of killing Xhahysa. Do you claim that you killed her?
Leonard Bashaliu: I killed Ylber Xhahysa. I received the punishment and expressed remorse.
SPAK: Did Albert Xhahysa leave children?
Leonard Bashaliu: "There are two boys and a brother. I don't know who killed the brother."
