Although the majority has suffered a moral blow from the latest political situation, it does not affect the party as a whole, because the SP has so far followed a standard where it has sided with the new justice system.

But if the language that Deputy Prime Minister Balluku used with her subordinates, in the files, is true, then she should not only be dismissed, but also leave the party.

This is what former socialist MP Petro Koçi said today on "News 24", when asked about the files of the Deputy Prime Minister and the AKSHI, in relation to the positions of the majority.

"Political change is always gradual, it doesn't come overnight. The opposition fell in the elections, the less one side weighs, the other side rises. That's why this result came, it went to 83 mandates. That's why Rama mentioned in a meeting where the DP would fall in the elections and that's what happened. Rama sacrificed many political figures," the former lawmaker explained the current position of the majority.

He commented that he had been against it since the first day the Balluk issue came up, and was even critical of the scheme of political power given to district leaders, in this case in Fier, where he controlled everything, down to the appointment of cleaners.

"The day the Balluku case came up, I took a stand. I am against a district leader taking all the power and not being able to appoint a cleaner without permission. That's why I said that even an angel turns into a devil in this situation. The scheme that was used was such that we would not be on the lists, so what they say about my personal relationship with Balluku because I was not included in the lists is not true, it has nothing to do with it," he argued.

But Koçi is clear about the Deputy Prime Minister's position regarding the investigation and whether the facts in the file are true.

For him, the language used by the government's number two with her subordinate is unacceptable, always if SPAK's facts hold true.

"If the language used in the file is true, it would be enough to dismiss him and remove him from the party. But I say, if what is said there is true. It is unacceptable to speak with subordinates in that language, it seems unworthy to speak like that, in state functions. I personally do not know Ms. Balluku. I think that the minister should not interfere in any case with the destinations of procurements, that ministry has the largest share of the budget. I have also been a minister myself and if I were to influence one of the procurements of others, they would do it, but on the other hand they would also make a 10th for themselves. This is how corruption works," he explained.

But is the SP government the most corrupt in Albania's pluralist history? For the former MP, this statement does not hold true, as that of former Prime Minister Berisha was the most corrupt.

But what is changing is the system of tracking and punishing corruption, thanks also to the justice reform, where the majority has its contribution. Koçi admitted that SPAK and GJKKO are making history in Albania.

"As for corrupt governance, I think that a more corrupt government than Sali Berisha's has not yet come. But let's not forget that now we are in a system where corruption is discovered, in the past corruption was not discovered. Back then, only murderers who committed corruption were discovered. This is the big change, thanks to the reform that has been made and for which the SP has its own merit. We are talking about these two institutions, SPAK and GJKKO, which are making and are making history, to be honest. Because other justice institutions are limping, but these two are making history," he said.

In the end, the former socialist lawmaker explained that despite the fact that the initiative was from the majority, what finalized the justice reform was precisely the international support of the US-EU-Great Britain troika.

"The international factor has been important. The SP would not have been able to carry out the reform without their help. It could not have been done unilaterally, it was a political undertaking by the SP, but it was the assistance of internationals that gave it energy and encouragement, and it continues today, from the US and the EU, as well as Britain, who continue to support it," he said./ NEWS-24
