Activist Erjon Murataj has clarified that the protest's Citizen Assembly will not include MPs or leaders of political parties, emphasizing that this forum aims to remain an independent civic structure.
Invited to A2 CNN, Murataj stated that MPs and leaders of small parties are welcome to participate in civic protests as citizens, but not as decision-makers in the Assembly.
"A DP MP cannot come to the Citizens' Assembly, he does not become a member of the Assembly. Every MP who does not have stolen public money on his conscience is asked to be in the square as a citizen, but not to be a decision-maker in a social institution that is the antithesis of the system that has taken Albania hostage. I have seen the leaders of small parties in the square and they have done their civic duty, but there is no place for them in the Assembly," declared Murataj.
He also announced that an even broader assembly will be convened very soon, which will conclude the process of electing and finalizing the members of the Citizens' Assembly.
According to Murataj, this phase will serve to consolidate the structure of the civic forum, which aims to function independently of political parties and their representatives.
