DP leader Sali Berisha continued to echo the DP's renewal in a conversation he held with followers on social media today. Although this statement comes at a time when the DP will continue to be led by him in the coming years, along with his loyal names in key party positions, Berisha tried to offer a different perspective on internal developments.
According to him, today in the National Council of the DP, 60 percent are made up of young people and women and this is a very important proportion for them, because they inherited a deformation from which they were finally separated. Further, he argued that two-thirds of the elected leadership of the DP are elected for the first time, just as three vice-chairmen of the DP are elected for the first time.
In this line with figures that aim to prove a profound change, Berisha informed that out of 14 secretaries, only 3 have been re-elected. According to him, this is the deepest process of renewal of the DP since its establishment. He added that on the other hand, necessary proportions of representation have been established in this party, expressing his conviction that the fundamental demand for every citizen and member, supporter of this party has been renewal.
The Chief Democrat further came to the defense of the leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, regarding the recent accusations that the latter has received from the leader of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, regarding the villa in Italy.
Berisha defended Shehaj by attacking Balla, saying that it was an ugly and shameful act. According to him, by going to the door of another person's house without authorization, the law and the Constitution were seriously violated. Berisha added that if the state has problems with each politician, there are laws on how to proceed against them and the court decides on such an act. In his assessment, Balla's departure totally shows that there is a captured state and a real mafia here.
