The company TETE Albania has reacted after the protest held in Spaç by a group of employees who claim they were illegally dismissed.
In an official statement, the company emphasizes that its activity has always been in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania and calls on the 43 employees, whose contracts are still in force, to immediately return to their jobs.
"TETE Albania" states that the termination of work was carried out illegally, without respecting the procedures provided for in the Labor Code, emphasizing that this also violates the right to work of other employees.
According to the company, the current situation has caused significant economic damage and may affect the repayment of obligations to active employees, while in parallel legal procedures have been initiated for compensation of damages.
The company states that resolving the situation requires open and constructive dialogue, while respecting the legal framework in force.
TETE Albania's full reaction:
As TETE Albania, we would like to inform the public about the illegal strike process that has taken place in recent days. Since its establishment, TETE Albania has operated in full compliance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Albania, labor legislation in particular, while continuously respecting the rights of employees and all legal processes stemming from them. The company calls on the 43 employees, whose contracts are still in force, to immediately return to their jobs. As we have emphasized several times before, the creation of a union and membership in it is the legal right of every employee, and TETE Albania has not and will never hinder this process. However, the cessation of work without following the procedures provided for in the Labor Code constitutes a violation of legal rules and violates the right to work of other employees who wish to continue their duties. For this reason, the company encourages employees to return to work and, if they wish, they can join a legally registered trade union, which has followed the relevant steps and procedures for employee membership and representation. However, in the interest of all employees, we would like to emphasize that if the current situation does not normalize in the short term, due to economic and operational impacts beyond the control of the administration, the company may face difficulties in repaying its financial obligations to active employees. The work stoppage has already caused significant economic damage, which constitutes an “economic attack” on the company’s stability and the possibility of continuing its activity. In parallel, the company has initiated legal procedures for compensation for the damages caused during this process. TETE Albania believes that a sustainable solution is possible only through open, constructive and social dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation within the legal and procedural framework provided for by the legislation in force.
