The United States of America has provided specialized assistance to the Republican Guard, the structure that provides protection for senior officials in Albania.
In an official announcement, the US Embassy in Tirana announced that eight members of the Guard, engaged in the security of government officials and SPAK prosecutors, have completed high-level tactical training by the US Secret Service. The training took place at the US International Law Enforcement Academy in Budapest.
The Embassy also emphasizes that the US continues to support Albanian institutions by providing tactical equipment and regular training programs for forces that protect justice officials.
"We are proud to work with the courageous individuals who keep the leaders of the justice system in Albania safe," the announcement says.
