It is true that Albanians use online e-government services more than the European Union average, but this apparently comes after several attempts are made to access the service within a day (if you are lucky and get it).
For 1 week now, businesses' attempts to complete the necessary procedures through the e-Albania platform during the day have been so frequent and fruitless, that this is forcing them to stay connected all day to complete actions that should be simple.
Concerns about delays and obstacles in the e-Albania platform, which is used to carry out administrative procedures and upload certificates, are again coming from businesses and accountants.
Businesses claim that they are unable to make even the simplest changes and services, and they cannot even be performed during normal business hours, as the platform often only responds in the late evening hours.
One of the businesses said that the platform has not been functioning properly since last week and users are forced to stay connected throughout the day to complete simple processes.
"We are unable to even make the simplest changes, such as uploading a certificate. Only in the late evening hours do we manage to complete any procedures," claimed one of the businesses.
"You have to stay alone in e-Albania to be able to close something. The situation has been like this for a week," added another business.
Businesses warn that the slowdown of e-Albania will negatively affect their daily activities, with increased costs and distraction from objectives.
This is not the first time that businesses in the country are encountering problems with the malfunctioning of online services, including the e-Albania and Selfcare platforms.
For weeks, the self-care system, which is widely used by businesses, was not functional, hindering their activity.
While a few days ago, problems appeared with many government websites with "domains" for government institutions (.gov.al) which failed to open.
Individuals are also facing problems. Elona, who lives abroad, says she is trying to upload the legalization permit so that she can apply for a certificate of ownership, but she is unable to do so, as the system is very slow. "I will try again in the evening," she says./Monitor.al/
