An open construction site near kindergarten no. 43 and nursery school no. 26 in Tirana has raised great concern among parents, as the constant noise of the construction work is taking place near the premises where dozens of young children stay every day.
According to parents, while work continues on the construction site for a palace, little ones in kindergarten and nursery should try to focus on their daily activities or take a nap amidst the noise of machinery and construction work.
The problem becomes even more worrying due to the fact that, according to the building permit, the works for the palace are expected to last up to five years, which means that the children will face the same situation for a long time.
Parents say they have filed complaints about this problem, but so far the Directorate of Kindergartens and Nurseries in Tirana has not taken concrete measures to find a solution.
According to them, the institutions have not taken any steps to temporarily move children to other facilities during the construction period, nor to request from the construction company that the works be carried out outside of school hours, so as not to affect the children.
Parents are demanding immediate intervention from responsible institutions, emphasizing that the health and peace of children should be a priority, before any construction project.
