The Constitutional Court has rejected the request submitted by the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, and nine other MPs, for the assessment of the constitutionality of the procedure for electing the President of Kosovo.
In the press release sent to the media, it is announced that decision KO68/26 rejects the request made.
"The court, unanimously, decided: TO REJECT the request of the applicants; TO REJECT the request for the imposition of a temporary measure," the press release sent to the media states.
Haxhiu and nine VV MPs appealed to the Constitutional Court after opposition MPs failed to attend the extraordinary session. According to this request, they sought a constitutional review of whether these MPs, by not attending, had violated the Constitution and were in conflict with their duties and responsibilities.
