While the political debate over the performance of lawmakers continues, the financial bills they pay to the state budget remain one of the issues of greatest interest to the public. An official document obtained by VNA on the financial statements of the Albanian Parliament reveals detailed figures of the financial benefits of MPs for the month of July 2026.
What is immediately noticeable is that in addition to the basic salary that each MP receives, which is approximately 2,000 euros per month, legislators also benefit from generous extra packages. These additional benefits include up to 400 euros per month for fuel, 170 euros for telephone expenses, as well as significant amounts for domestic travel allowances, housing rent reimbursement, and hotel bills.

Below is the list of the 10 MPs who received the highest amounts of extra benefits (excluding base salary) during July, fully converted into euros:

Housing rental reimbursement: €6,570.
Hotel bill reimbursement: €194.

As for the names that top the list of the biggest financial beneficiaries, the irony lies in the fact that most of them remain largely anonymous figures in the public sphere, with little or no active parliamentary presence or debate.
