Liridona Ademaj's murder, Kokalla denies putting Plava and Murseli in

Kushtrim Kokalla, co-accused in the murder of Liridona Ademaj, began providing defense on 27.03.2026.

Kokalla, once considered a relative of Murseli, is accused, along with Naim Murseli and Granit Plava, of the murder of Liridona Ademaj on 29.11.2023, which was initially reported as a robbery with a dead person.

Kokalla has begun answering questions from his defense attorney, Ndrec Dodaj, where the defendant said that he was not the person who met the defendant as a helper, Granit Plava and Naim Murslein to commit the criminal offense.

"I have neither met Granit nor made any agreements. I had no connection with Naim meeting Granit," said Kokalla.

Kokalla, answering his lawyer's questions, said that he has incurred a debt of 25 thousand euros to Naim Murseli and that Naim Murseli has kept him close for this reason.

"The reason was to keep me close, because I had previously received a loan of 25 thousand euros that Naimi had asked me for," said Kokalla.

Kokalla said that they met with Naim and Granit at a gas station, which did not last many minutes. According to him, the conversation was normal, nothing special, with questions about what he does, what he does, and other things.

"Naimi insisted on coming with me, we met at the gas station where Graniti was waiting for me," said Kokalla.

According to Kokalla, it cannot be said that Naim Murseli and Granit Plava do not know each other since they are fellow villagers.

"I can't say that they don't know each other, because these are fellow villagers," Kokalla continued.

The accused said that after the meeting at the gas station, they went home and then Mursel wrote to him asking for Granit Plava's contact number and had forwarded it to him.

"I have to point out that after I went home and Granit was alone, Naimi wrote to me on WhatsApp and asked for Granit's contact number," said Kokalla.

According to Kokalla, after the first meeting, there was a second meeting, which was held 5-6 days later at a gas station near the Klina-Gjakova-Peja crossroads. Kokalla said that he asked Granit why Naim Murseli had called us to the meeting, while on the way in the car to the gas station. According to the accused, Murseli had been waiting at the gas station and the stay had lasted no longer than 20 minutes and that in Kokalla's presence nothing concrete had been discussed between Granit Plava and Naim Murseli about the murder of Lirionda Ademaj.

"When we went with Granit, he gave me 300 euros to pay off the loan because I had taken out a loan for Naim. And he gave Granit an amount of 500 euros, I don't remember anything before, and he told Granit to take the money. Absolutely nothing concrete was discussed about the case (of murder)," said Kokalla.

Kokalla said that on the critical day when Liridona Ademaj was killed, he met with Naim Murseli and talked to him about the problems he had with his wife.

Regarding the statement given to the Police that Naim Murseli allegedly told Kokalla "Today this job is done", according to Kokalla, he does not know if it is true that he alluded to the murder of his wife. According to him, he does not know if the statement that Naimi Murseli told him is correct. According to Kushtrim Kokalla, the conversation was much longer but not everything he stated to the police was included, saying that parts that are in favor of the investigation were included in the minutes.

According to Kokala, on the critical day, he was unaware of the movements of Naim Murseli and Granit Plava.

Murseli began and continued his defense on 11.02.2026, and completed his version on 26.03.2026. Granit Plava, on the other hand, completed his defense in this case on 26.03.2026.

The trial panel in this criminal case is composed of Fatime Dërmaku (presiding judge), Gent Beka and Alban Ajvazi (members).

In this case, the accused are Naim Murseli, Kushtrim Kokalla and Granit Plava, who is considered by the Prosecution to be the accomplice.

Liridona Ademaj was killed on 29.11.2023 on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in the village of Bërnicë, Pristina.

On 31.01.2025, Naim Murseli pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering Liridona Ademaj. Meanwhile, Kushtrim Kokalla refused to give a statement without consulting his lawyer, Ndrecë Dodajn.

Granit Plava, who according to the Prosecution is considered to be the person who fired the gun to kill Ademaj, had stated that he wanted to defend himself in silence.

Naim Murseli, Granit Plava, Kushtrim Kokalla are the people who are now being charged by the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina on suspicion of organizing and murdering Liridona Ademaj - an event that was recorded on 29.11.2023 in the village of Bërnicë, Pristina.

Also accused in this case is Tom Dodaj, who was accused of selling the weapon used to kill Liridona Ademaj. The latter, during the initial hearing on 31.01.2025, had pleaded guilty to the criminal offense charged by the Prosecution.

KALLXO.com has managed to obtain the full indictment filed by prosecutor Javorka Perlinçević. The latter even said in a conference called by Chief Prosecutor Zejnullah Gashi that the delay in the indictment is due to several documents and requests she has requested from Sweden, to shed light on the motive behind the murder.

The prosecutor in the case described that Naim Murseli planned the murder of his wife due to disturbed family and marital relations. From these problems - as described in the Indictment - Naim Murseli's desire for revenge against his wife had also arisen.

Always according to the indictment, after 25.06.2022, when a life insurance policy was paid in the name of Liridona Ademaj in the amount of 3 million Swedish kronor, with the aim of Murseli receiving financial benefit after the murder.

The file describes this plan that Naim Murseli shared with his family member Kushtrim Kokalla and that the latter had refused to carry out the murder, but then found the third person, Granit Plava, with whom he introduced Naim Murseli.

According to the file, on 29.11.2023, at noon, Naim Murseli, together with Granit Plava, purchased a "Zastava" type weapon, black in color, from Tom Dodaj, worth 280 euros.

And, on the same day, the file explains that in the time interval: 20:11-20:18 minutes, at the place where Naim Murseli and Granit Plava had previously agreed - an agreed plan that they staged to make it look like an armed robbery - the murder was committed.

The file states that Naim Murseli had initially alerted Granit Plava with his car lights, then grabbed Liridona Ademaj by the hand, so that she would not escape the bullet, after Plava shot her. And, from then on, Naim got out of the car with the children and left the scene. With all these actions that Naim Murseli committed, the Prosecution has charged him with the criminal offense of aggravated murder.

The second defendant is Granit Plava, who according to the Prosecution on the critical day in the time interval: 20:11-20:18 minutes, in the village of Bërnica, after the preliminary agreement he had made with Naim Museli, the Dossier describes that he committed the murder in disguise, had shot at the victim, who consequently died. And, for this entire case Plava would be compensated with an amount of 30,000 euros

According to the Prosecution's file, Plava approached the victim directly and shot her with a gun, while her ex-husband was holding the victim's arm so that she wouldn't dodge the bullet.

The weapon used in the case was found in the house of the now-defendant Granit Plava, in the village of Cermjan in Gjakova. The weapon was seized following a raid on the suspect's house.

Plava is charged by the Prosecution with the criminal offenses of "aggravated murder" and "unlicensed possession of a weapon."

The third defendant is Kushtrim Kokalla, a relative of Naim Murseli. The file shows that Kokalla had refused to commit the murder, but that he later found Granit Plava and introduced him to Naim Murseli.

Kokalla is also charged with the criminal offense of "aggravated murder." And, the fourth defendant in this case is Tom Dodaj. He is being charged with "supplying weapons" to the first three suspects, who planned and carried out the murder./Kallxo.com/
